I’ve been taking some business-related classes lately; focusing on the admin side of my micro salon. As you guys should know, I am a one-woman show. As you can imagine, sometimes the business side of things gets pushed aside to fit in personal time with the (adult) kids, the husband, and the dogs. Sometimes, I choose to take clients over getting “paperwork” done. At some point, I have to play catch up, and it’s not fun.
My husband has taken over all the back-side stuff for my website, but I’m still on the hook for blog posts (sorry), gallery & service menu updates, etc… not to mention all the accounting, photo editing & posting, and social media obligations.
I recently finished a Powerhouse Social Media course, and (as always) picked up a few handy tools. One of those is to actually write down my goals/plans… that way, I’m accountable, and it’s actually easier to stay on track. I’m a scheduler/list maker anyway, so this really helps. I set some goals, and thought I’d share here —
(1) I want to be at least 80% booked every week. I will do my part, but I NEED you all (especially my regular clients and my local friends/family) to share my stuff. Repost my pics, my openings, and my page as a whole. Tell your co-workers how happy you are and hand out my business cards. Interact with my page. The more you do that, the more my stuff shows up in your FB friends’ feed… and when someone on your friends list decides they want a good, quality nail tech, they’ll know where to go!
(2) I am vowing to post at least one blog post per month. You can regularly check back here or just watch for it on FB. I’ll post the link there, too.
(3) I want to get better about using Stories on IG and posting videos on FB.
(4) I *will* be attending (at least) the O.N.E. show in Portland and the NW Nail Tech Retreat in Washington next year. I vow to take at least one paid class at each (lots of free classes available, too, btw).
(5) Starting January 1st, 2020… THERE WILL BE A REFERRAL PROGRAM!! I have a meeting with a fellow nail sister to work out details, but it’s coming. Keep an eye out here & on FB next month for details.
